Minimum Wage: Governors Give Assurance To Organized Labour

Minimum wage tussles will soon be a thing of the past for Nigerian workers, this is according to the Governors Forum, assuring of a better wage at the ongoing negotiation table.

The governors held an emergency meeting to discuss the pending new minimum wage after it was suspended by FEC for President Tinubu to make broader consultations.

The meeting between the various stakeholders and the forum was made public through a statement signed by the NGF acting Director of Media, Ahmed Salihu.

Various pressing issues were discussed by the Forum till the early hours of Thursday and will keep engaging the stakeholders till it is resolved.

Recalled that Labour had insisted on N250,000 on the table of negotiations while the governors were complaining the N62,000 was too much for some states to pay.
