Landlord Dies After Tenant Threatened Him Over Unpaid Rent

The Police Command in Ogun State has arrested one Emmanuel over the death of his Landlord Apeh Benjamin after an argument ensued between them and later led to the death of the landlord.

The heated argument occurred at Aribabu village in the Sotubo area of Ogun State when Landlord Benjamin asked for rent payment from Emmanuel a tenant living in his compound.

Emmanuel threatened to kill his landlord for harassing him. However, at about 6:30 am on Sunday, 2 June, the landlord slumped and died instantly.

The Command on Monday through its spokesperson Omolola Odutola, said the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the actual cause of Benjamin’s death.
