The ongoing negotiation of the new minimum wage between the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Tripartite Committee and the Federal government sends fear down the populace that there would be another industrial action.

On Monday, Joe Ajearo President of NLC, revealed that the organized Labour will not embark on a strike action today, Tuesday, since the figures are still with President Tinubu.

Ajearo disclosed in a press conference that what the committee came up with has been sent to the President and even the N62,000 proposed by the Government does not mean Labour has accepted it.

Recalled that the Organized Labour had proposed N250,000 a reduction from N494,000 while standing on their ground not to collect N62,000 or N100,000 from FG as minimum wage.

Comrade Ajearo also said, that during the past administration, N27,000 was proposed by the tripartite committee but it was increased by the President to N30,000. Therefore Labour is hopeful that President Bola Tinubu would do the right thing.
