The Department of State Services (DSS) has filed a three-count charge bordering on cybercrime and defamation against a Kaduna resident accused of circulating a forged letter purportedly authored by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the President of the United States.

The suspect, Mubarak Abdullahi, popularly known as Sardaunan Samari, was arrested on September 28, 2026, after allegedly sharing the fabricated document on his Facebook page alongside the caption, “ATIKU IS COMING.”

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed the development in a post on X late Monday, confirming that Abdullahi was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court No. 10, Kabala Doki, Kaduna.

Onanuga emphasized that the security agency remains committed to tracking down and prosecuting individuals involved in generating and disseminating deceptive information online aimed at misinforming the public and disrupting national security.
