Again Labour Rejects FG’s Proposed N60k Minimum Wage

Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress under the umbrella of the the Organized Labour has again rejected the proposed minimum wage of the Federal Government.

Federal government had proposed N48,000 which was later raised to N60,000.

In anger the organized Labour walked out of the meeting insisting that N494,000 is the minimum wage an average Nigerian worker can earn, this was after the reduction has been made from N615,000.

According to Joe Ajearo, President of NLC, the government is not serious with workers welfare cause how can they propose N48,000, N54,000 and now N60,000 in today’s economy.
