ADF Rebels Kill Over 80 Persons In DRC

Villages in the Northern Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, have faced many attacks from rebels who have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State destabilizing the Nation.

Rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces, ADF, launched an attack on the Baswagha-Madiwe group and Beni territory (North Kivu) on May 4 and 7 leaving more than 80 people dead.

According to a spokesman of the army in North Kivu province, Lieutenant Colonel Mak Hazukay, the attack on Friday night by the ADF was more on Masala, Mapasana, and Mahini villages.

Houses were razed down, 25 motorcycles stolen and 30 others were killed in Masau, Mununze, Kabweke, and Manlese villages in the past weeks.

Many residents attacked by the rebels have left their homes to seek refuge in Kyatsaba, the Western part of Beni and Mabalako.
