JAMB Approves Policy Shift Allowing Candidates to Update Lost Phone Numbers and Emails

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has updated its administrative policy to enable candidates who have genuinely lost access to their registered phone numbers or email addresses to officially update their profiles through a secure process.

The examination body announced the policy modification on Monday through its official X (formerly Twitter) platform, confirming that the new service officially commenced operations nationwide on Sunday, September 21, 2026.

According to the board, candidate profile updates will not be conducted online or through third-party cybercafés. Instead, the service is restricted exclusively to designated JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers and official JAMB State Offices across the country.

JAMB clarified that the controlled procedure was introduced to assist candidates facing legitimate technical or personal challenges with their communication channels while maintaining the security and integrity of candidate data within the matriculation portal. Candidates requiring updates are advised to visit approved CBT centers with valid identification to complete the verification and update process.
