Stay Away From Oriire LGA Till Further Notice – NUT Tells Teachers

It has been 11 days and counting since teachers and students abducted by a terrorist group in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, have been held by their captors, despite the state government and federal government sending troops and drones to set them free.

Due to the undisclosed location of the 39 students and 7 teachers, the National Union of Teachers has directed all public school teachers in Oriire to stay away from schools in the LGA and withdraw their services indefinitely.

This directive was signed by the NUT State Secretary, Salami Olukayode, who stated that the scars on the teachers are unbearable, and starting from Tuesday, May 26, all teachers should abide by the instructions.
