Think Before Traveling to Nigeria, US Tells Citizens

With the security situation in Nigeria, the United States has advised its citizens to reconsider traveling to Nigeria in order to avoid being kidnapped.

Some areas in Nigeria are seen as flashpoints, and citizens were strongly warned by the State Department’s travel update on Wednesday to be very careful as deadly attacks continue to rise.

The current partnership between Nigeria and the US did not stop Washington from authorizing the departure of non-emergency staff and their families from the US embassy in Abuja because of the situation across Nigeria.
