Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, has assured the people of Ozoro that the state government will adopt a transparent and equitable process aimed at benefiting genuine traders when allocating shops to traders in the recently completed Ozoro Modern Market in Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking during an inspection of the facility, Aniagwu expressed satisfaction with the standard of work executed by the contractor, noting that the project reflects the government’s commitment to improving economic opportunities for the people.

He emphasized that the government would guard against the takeover of the market by wealthy individuals seeking to exploit petty traders, noting that priority would be given to those actively engaged in trading activities.

The Commissioner further noted that the Ministry of Trade and Investment, in collaboration with the local government and market leaders, would oversee the allocation process to ensure fairness and prevent abuse.

A grand Patron of Isoko Development Union, IDU, Idu Amaide, amongst some women who spoke to newsmen, stated the importance of the market to the community as they thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for completing the project his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa had started.
