There is an ongoing protest in Benue State as youths in Agatu LGA marched to the council headquarters in Obagaji, demanding the eviction of Fulani herdsmen from the community in preparation for the farming season.

The protesters, with various placards displaying that Fulani must go, may have clashed with them due to destruction caused by the cows and the rising insecurity in the area.

However, the Chairman of Agatu LGA, Melvin Ejeh, revealed that he has met with aggrieved residents and community elders to address their concerns, and measures are being put in place.

He further assured residents that security actions are not something to be discussed in public, but motions are in progress to make the LGA peaceful.
