Bandits who kidnapped eight worshippers from the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in Omugo, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, including the pastor’s wife, are currently demanding a N1 billion ransom.
The victims were kidnapped on Sunday as the bandits fired gunshots, disrupting the service, and carried the victims to an undisclosed location.
Pastor Toba Omole, speaking to newsmen, revealed that the bandits contacted the community on Tuesday and allowed family members to speak with the victims before the N1 billion ransom was demanded.
He therefore appealed to the Kwara State Government for a means of negotiation to secure the release of the victims, as the ransom is too much for the community to handle.
