Nigeria will now become the hub for African medical biotechnology as China plans to build the first insulin production facility.
The information was disclosed by the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, on Wednesday in Abuja during the 76th anniversary of China.
During the reception, Dunhai said this great transformation would improve blood glucose level management, prevent diabetes-related complications, and end the country’s reliance on imported insulin.
The Chinese ambassador commended Nigeria for adopting the Mandarin language into the secondary school curriculum, as it will further enhance integration for self-driven development.
Dunhai also highlighted China’s long-standing support for Africa’s development and the relationship between the two nations, sharing the same national date, October 1.
