IPOB Distances Itself from Simon Ekpa After Conviction

Post created on 4:59 pm

‎Simon Ekpa has been sentenced to six years in prison for terrorism-related crimes and other offenses by a District Court in Finland on Monday.

‎Following his conviction, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has distanced itself and the ESN from Ekpa, who calls himself the leader of the Biafra Government in Exile.

‎According to the spokesperson of IPOB, Emma Powerful, Nnamdi Kanu has no ties with Ekpa, and the Nigerian government should not use this as a means to compromise Kanu’s case.

‎The statement says Ekpa created his own Biafra Liberation Army, and IPOB has since distanced itself; therefore, it called on international bodies to see the peaceful leader of IPOB released as a free man.
