Man Kills Father on Cult Order in Warri

A sad incident occurred on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Oil Field Road, where one Mr. Sunny was murdered by his son, identified as Ifeanyi, who used proceeds from money stolen from his deceased father to lodge and organize a birthday party for his girlfriend.

Ifeanyi was arrested by the Enerhen Police Division on Sunday at a hotel with two girls and confessed to butchering his father on orders from his cult group.

The suspect revealed that he attacked his father at night, butchered him, cut off his hand, inflicted various injuries on him, and finally stole money from a land sale and ran away.

The deceased cried for help in a pool of his own blood and was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. In response, a manhunt was launched, and Ifeanyi was caught.

An update is expected from the Delta State PPRO; however, the body of Mr. Sunny has been deposited in the mortuary.
