Rwandans are heavily prepared for the nation’s forthcoming general election slated for July 15, 2024, as over 9 million voters have been registered.

It would be the very first time when elections will be held for legislative positions in the country with the presidential campaign kick-started on Saturday.

Present President, Paul Kagame will once again face his 2017 opposition Frank Habineza and Philippe Mpayimana since others in the race were disqualified from running due to non-compliant documents and past convictions history

According to the revised constitution of Rwanda in 2015, Kagame if re-elected would stay in office for another five years. While for the legislative positions over 500 candidates have been screened.
