Pipeline Maintenance Workers give OML 42 Management three days ultimatum to pay salaries

The National Association of Pipeline Surveillance Maintenance Workers of Nigeria (NAPSMWN) has given the Asset Management Team of OML 42, three days to pay the salary arrears of its surveillance and Maintenance worker or risk the shutdown of its operations.

In a statement, dated October 6th, 2020, president of the National Association of Pipeline Surveillance Maintenance Workers of Nigeria, Mr. William Guwakumor and the national secretary of the association, Mr. Livingston Ofowino, said the three days’ notice is a grace period following the expiration of the 7 days ultimatum given earlier.

They warned that the Flow stations to be shut down if their demands are not met include Batan, Egwa1, Odidi 1, Odidi 2 and Jones Creek flow station.

Lamenting that some of their workers are being owed as much as 6 to 13 months salaries, the association emphasized that it would only negotiate directly with the Asset Management team of OML 42
