The deputy senate president, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege says peace is needed for Nigeria to achieve its target in the 2020 Budget.

Omo-Agege, who spoke on Wednesday during plenary, decried the perceived neglect of the Niger-Delta region, especially the host communities to multinational companies. He meanwhile called for the relocation of the headquarters of multinational oil companies to the region

Meanwhile, the senate president Ovie Omo-Agege kicked over the alleged sale of a bar of gold to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) at N5 billion by the Zamfara State Government.

Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, contributing to a debate on the 2021 Appropriations Bill at yesterday’s Senate plenary, described the sale as a breach of the laws presently guiding the exploitation of mineral resources in the country.

He said his constituents and other Niger Delta people were worried about the development, since all proceeds from oil in their territory go solely to the Federation Account.
