Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said that he plans to leave the club in 2023 when his current contract runs out.

The Spaniard, who joined the club in 2016, feels he will need a rest after seven years at the helm.

“After seven years at this team, I think I’m going to have a stop,” said Guardiola, who was peaking at an online event organized by Brazilian financial services company XP Investimentos, and quoted by ESPN Brasil.

“I will have a break, see what we’ve done. And in the process, I would like to train a national team, South American, European … Playing a Copa América — I want to have that experience.”

The 50-year-old has won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups during his time in Manchester.

Guardiola took a year break following his departure from Barcelona in 2012 after four, trophy-laden years at the Camp Nou before joining Bayern Munich in 2013.
