15 Persons arrested in Burkina Faso

The Authorities in Burkina Faso has arrested a total of fifteen people in involvement in an attempt to destabilize Institutions.

The group includes one senior Army Officer as well as soldiers. The announcement was made by the Defence Minister Colonel Major Aimé Simpore, on Thursday.

This legal action which was decided by the Military Prosecutor, follows a report by a soldier who was allegedly contacted by a group of individuals to join another group in order to carry out this destabilisation actions against the institutions.

According to the Defence Minister, ” The arrest was roded by the Prosecutor of the Military Tribunal in the capital Ouagadougou.”

“At the end of the first hearing three people were released, two civilians and one soldier. Which means that a total of twelve people are still in preventive detention for the need of the investigation.”

Since 2015 Burkina Faso is fighting Jihadist insurgency.
