Terrorist Negotiator Tukur Mamu Arraign On A 10 Count Charge By FG

Former terrorist negotiator, Tukur Mamu has pleaded not guilty to a 10-count charge bordering on terrorism financing, among others, against him by the Federal Government.

On Tuesday Mamu was arraigned before Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court, Abuja, by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation but denied having allegiance to the terrorists.

Mamu was arrested 6th of September, 2022, on his way to Saudi Arabia for Lesser Hajj, and accused of receiving 120,000.00 dollar ransom payments on behalf of the Boko haram terrorist group from families of hostages of the Abuja/Kaduna train attack.

The federal government said the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 21 (3) (a) of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.

NAN also reports that the attorney general also alleged that Mamu, sometime in 2022 in Kaduna received ransom payments in the sum of N5OO, 000 on behalf of the Boko haram terrorist group from families of hostages (victims) of the Abuja/Kaduna train attack.

He is also been accused of exchanging communications through voice notes about acts of terrorism with one Baba Adamu (a Boko Haram spokesperson)

The federal government also accused Mamu of dealing in terrorist funds in the sum of 300,000 dollars which were found in his possession.
